Shipping and Return Policy

This Shipping and Return Policy explains important information about order processing, shipping, delivery, inspection, returns, and related matters for purchases made from The Safety Equipment Store®. Please also review our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.

Order Processing

Orders are processed as promptly as reasonably possible during normal business hours. Processing times may vary depending on product availability, manufacturer lead times, order verification, shipping destination, hazardous material requirements, and other factors.

Shipping Methods and Carriers

Orders may ship by UPS, FedEx, USPS, common carrier, LTL freight carrier, direct from manufacturer, or other carrier as determined by product type, destination, and availability. Certain products may be subject to special shipping requirements, including hazardous materials regulations, oversized freight handling, or manufacturer shipping restrictions.

Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are determined based on the products ordered, shipment weight and dimensions, destination, shipping method, carrier rates, special handling requirements, and any applicable surcharges. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, buyer is responsible for freight and shipping-related charges.

Free Shipping Promotions

From time to time, certain products may qualify for free shipping promotions to qualifying destinations within the continental United States. Free shipping promotions, if offered, exclude hazardous materials shipments, LTL freight shipments, oversized items, special order items, and other excluded products or destinations unless expressly stated otherwise. Promotional shipping offers may be changed or discontinued without notice.

Estimated Delivery Times

Any shipping or delivery times shown on the website, in quotations, or in communications are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed by us in writing. Carrier delays, weather, supply chain disruption, manufacturer delays, regulatory restrictions, and other events beyond our control may affect delivery times.

Risk of Loss and Title

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise agreed in writing, shipments are FOB shipping point and risk of loss transfers to buyer when the shipment is tendered to the carrier.

Inspection Upon Delivery

Buyer should inspect all shipments promptly upon delivery. Any visible carton damage, shortage, or other delivery discrepancy should be noted on the carrier delivery receipt at the time of delivery whenever possible. Concealed damage, shortages, shipping errors, or other delivery issues should be reported to us promptly after receipt.

Carrier Claims

Carrier claim requirements may apply to damaged, lost, or short shipments. Buyer agrees to cooperate in providing photographs, packaging, inspection access, written documentation, and other information reasonably necessary to process a carrier or supplier claim.

International, Alaska, Hawaii, and Special Destination Orders

Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses, foreign destinations, and certain government or export-controlled destinations may be subject to additional freight charges, documentation requirements, export restrictions, or delivery limitations. Availability of shipment to such destinations is not guaranteed.

Will Call / Sales Counter

The Safety Equipment Store® is a wholesale distribution business and does not offer sales counter pickup or will-call orders unless expressly arranged in writing in advance.

Return Authorization Required

Returns require our prior written authorization and issuance of a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), where applicable. Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to sender at buyer’s expense.

Return Eligibility

Approved returns must generally be unused, uninstalled, unaltered, in original packaging, and in resalable condition, with all manuals, accessories, and original components included. Certain products may be non-returnable, including but not limited to special order items, custom products, discontinued products, hazardous materials, calibration gas, detector tubes, opened or used personal protective equipment, hygiene-sensitive items, and other products restricted by manufacturer policy or safety considerations.

Return Time Limits

Requests for return should be made promptly after delivery. Different manufacturers or products may have different allowable return windows. Approval of any return request is subject to product condition, manufacturer policy, and our written authorization.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns may be subject to restocking fees, supplier charges, outbound and return freight charges, and other applicable costs. Any applicable restocking or handling charges will depend upon the product and supplier involved.

Return Shipping Costs

Unless a return is due to our confirmed shipping error or another reason required by law, buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, including proper packaging, insurance, and shipment to the designated return location.

Non-Refundable Charges

Original shipping charges, special handling charges, expedited freight charges, hazardous material fees, and similar service-related charges are generally non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or expressly confirmed by us in writing.

Refunds and Credits

If a return is approved and the returned product is received and accepted, any refund or credit will be issued in accordance with the approved return terms, less applicable freight, restocking, handling, or supplier charges. Refund processing times may vary.

Incorrect or Damaged Shipments

If you believe you received an incorrect item or a shipment damaged in transit, please notify us promptly and provide your order number, photographs where applicable, and a description of the issue so that we may review the matter and assist in resolution.

Manufacturer Warranty Issues
